During police checking in Ranchi, an SUV driver while trying to escape hit a policeman, seriously injuring him. The police have arrested the accused Vishram Oraon and have also seized his car. The injured policeman is now out of danger.
Ranchi Police on Wednesday said it has arrested a man who seriously injured a police patrolling officer by speeding while checking his black SUV. There was a black film on the car, its windshield was broken and there was mud on the number plate. The accused has been identified as Vishram Oraon (38), resident of Bariatu, Ranchi.
Speaking to ANI, Ranchi Superintendent of Police (SP) Paras Rana said that the incident occurred near Morabadi Prime Park around 11:30 am on Tuesday. The vehicle had completely tinted windows, a cracked windshield and a rear license plate covered in mud, which looked suspicious. When a patrolling vehicle of Lalpur police station tried to stop and check the vehicle, the driver recklessly drove away, causing the driver of the patrolling vehicle to fall.
SP gave information about the incident
Officials said, “Yesterday at around 11:30 am, the patrolling vehicle of Lalpur police station spotted a vehicle which had a black film on it and whose number plate was covered with mud. The front windshield of the vehicle was damaged. So, based on suspicion, our police personnel tried to stop that vehicle. However, when the police personnel tried to stop him, the accused tried to run away.”
According to officials, the patrol driver suffered serious head injuries that required five stitches, but is now out of danger. The registration number of the vehicle has been identified and an FIR has been registered. After the raid, the accused was arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
He said, “In the incident, the police officer was also injured. He received five stitches on the back of his head. Subsequently, an FIR was registered and the accused was traced. The accused has been identified as Vishram Oraon. He is around 38 years of age, he has been arrested and is being sent for appropriate legal action.”
Police appealed to the people for cooperation
Police have urged people to cooperate with the police if they are stopped, as Ranchi Police conducts surveillance operations to ensure public safety and control crime. (ANI)
