A special puja was held on Labor Day at a temple dedicated to Rajinikanth in Madurai. A celebration was held on the theme of the film ‘Baasha’ in honor of the workers. The event was inspired by Rajinikanth’s journey from a laborer to a superstar.
On the occasion of International Labor Day, a special puja and celebration was organized at ‘Arulmigu Sri Rajini Temple’ dedicated to superstar Rajinikanth in Madurai. A large number of devotees participated in this program organized in honor of the workers. This temple has been built by a die-hard fan named Karthik. There are two black stone statues of Rajinikanth, which are worshiped every morning and evening. This temple, famous for its unique devotion, once again came into discussion on Labor Day.
Celebration on ‘Basha’ theme for laborers
To make Labor Day special, such an environment was created in the temple, which shows the hard work and respect of the workers. A big cutout of Rajinikanth’s film ‘Baasha’ was put up, in which he was in the auto driver’s getup. Along with this, an auto rickshaw was also parked, which was a symbol of the everyday struggle and pride of the workers. On this occasion, special anointment was done with 16 holy things including milk, cheese, curd and coconut water and then Aarti was performed by lighting the lamp.
Devotees prayed for the well-being, progress and success of workers across the country. Sweets were also distributed to the laborers who participated in the program. Temple administrator Karthik and his family had made this special arrangement to honor the laborers and show their importance in the society.
Rajinikanth’s life is an inspiration
Talking to news agency ANI, Karthik said that the inspiration for this celebration is Rajinikanth’s own life. He said, “Rajinikanth started his life by working as a daily wage laborer and bus conductor and today he has become a world superstar. His films ‘Mannan’, ‘Uzhaippali’ and ‘Baasha’ also show the struggle and respect of workers.
Karthik further said, “To honor the workers, we have done a special puja and abhishekam by placing Rajinikanth’s picture from the film ‘Baasha’. We have prayed for the well-being of all the workers.” He told that devotees consider Rajinikanth as their family deity and food donations and many social works are regularly done in his name in the temple.
Extending his wishes, Karthik said, “Laborers have a big role in the progress of our country. Labor Day is very special for auto drivers in particular. That’s why we chose the theme ‘Baasha’. We performed the puja by placing the tools used in everyday work to show the message ‘Happy Labor Day’ in a creative way.”
