Rajinikanth once shared this story from his early career. “The director called for ‘pack up’ after a day’s shoot. So, I had a few drinks. Suddenly, an assistant director ran up to me and said, ‘Sir, we missed a scene. The director is calling you back to shoot it’.” To hide that he’d been drinking, Rajini quickly took a shower, changed his clothes, and went back to the set. But he couldn’t fool his director, K. Balachander, who immediately figured it out.
