If he does not resign from the post of MP, he will have to resign from the post of MLA, because according to the constitutional rule, no one can be an MP and an MLA simultaneously.
On the other hand, if he resigns from the post of MLA, then it is clear that he is not becoming the CM, because to become the CM it is necessary to remain an MLA or to become an MLA within six months of taking oath as CM.
