Rajasthan: Are Balaknath’s chances of becoming Chief Minister over?

Rajasthan: Are Balaknath's chances of becoming Chief Minister over?

After BJP’s victory in Rajasthan Assembly, speculations have intensified as to who will be the next CM of the state? In the race for the post of CM, the names of former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal as well as four BJP MPs elected in the assembly elections Baba Balaknath, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Diya Kumari and Kirodilal Meena are being discussed in full swing. Campaigns are being run on social media regarding these names. Three newly elected BJP MLAs Kirodilal Meena, Rajvardhan Singh Rathore and Diya Kumari have resigned from the post of MP on Thursday, while Baba Balaknath has not resigned yet.

After three MPs Diya Kumari, Kirodilal Meena and Rajyavardhan Rathore resigned from the post of MP after becoming MLAs, speculations have intensified about giving them important responsibilities in the state. BJP sources say that everything will be new. After the statement of the BJP leader, it has become almost clear that BJP will hand over the command of the state to a new face.

Let us tell you that BJP had fielded seven MPs in the Rajasthan Assembly elections. The MPs who contested the elections included Baba Balaknath, Kirori Lal Meena, Diya Kumari, Bhagirath Chaudhary, Rajyavardhan Rathod, Narendra Khichad, Devji Patel. Of these, four MPs won the elections and three had to face defeat. Devji M Patel has lost the assembly elections from Sanchaur, Bhagirath Chaudhary Kishangarh and Narendra Khekar. In such a situation, he will remain an MP.

Has Baba Balaknath lagged behind in the race for CM post?

But out of the four winning MPs, three have resigned, while BJP MP Baba Balaknath has won from Tijara Assembly seat, but till now there is no news regarding his resignation. In such a situation, he will have to keep only one of the two posts. If he does not resign from the post of MP, he will have to resign from the post of MLA, because according to the constitutional rule, no one can be an MP and an MLA simultaneously.

On the other hand, if he resigns from the post of MLA, then it is clear that he is not becoming the CM, because to become the CM it is necessary to remain an MLA or to become an MLA within six months of taking oath as CM. Getting elected is mandatory. In such a situation, since he has already been elected from the post of MLA and he does not resign from the post of MP, then it is natural to have doubts.

Let us tell you that there is a lot of discussion about Baba Balaknath’s claim for the post of CM after winning from Tijara seat of Alwar. People are seeing the image of UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Baba Balaknath, the eighth chief Mahant of the Nath sect. Baba Balaknath keeps giving statements continuously on the issue of Hindutva. The party had also summoned him to Delhi. After that the speculations had intensified, but the way three MPs resigned and they have not resigned from the post of MP. Due to this, questions have been raised on his claim for the post of CM.

BJP will bet on a new face in Rajasthan

On the other hand, there is strong speculation about Vasundhara Raje, who has been CM twice, becoming the Chief Minister once again. After the election results, the process of MLAs meeting at Vasundhara Raje’s residence in Jaipur is increasing, but after the statement of BJP sources, questions have been raised about her becoming CM. The BJP leadership wants that before the Lok Sabha elections, the responsibility of the post of CM should be given to such a leader who is a completely new face and his old activities should not affect the new regime. Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal also seems to be out of the race for the same reason.

At the same time, this speculation has intensified after three MPs Diya Kumari, Kirodilal Meena and Rajyavardhan Rathore resigned from the post of MP. BJP can gamble on these faces, because Lok Sabha elections are to be held after a few months. In such a situation, BJP can bet on these faces. Diya Kumari has connections with the royal family, while Rajyavardhan Rathod is a name in the world of sports and also has administrative experience as a Union Minister.
