On the occasion of Mother’s Day, video calling system was started for women prisoners in Raipur Women’s Jail. Now prisoners will be able to talk to their families and lawyers on video calls. Besides, 38 prisoners were also given certificates of skill development training.

Raipur. On the special occasion of Mother’s Day, a new initiative was started for the women prisoners lodged in Raipur Women’s Jail. According to the announcement of State Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, the jail administration has provided the facility of Prison Inmate Video Calling System to the women prisoners. Due to this initiative, happiness was seen on the faces of women prisoners.

Now you can talk to family and lawyers directly on video call

Under the agreement between the Jail Department and BSNL, a video calling system has been installed in the women’s jail. Through this facility, now women prisoners will be able to talk to their family members and lawyers directly through video calls. This new system will provide mental support to the prisoners and will also make it easier to discuss legal matters. The jail administration believes that this step will prove helpful in connecting the women prisoners with their families.

38 women prisoners received certificates under Nishchay program

During the program, 38 women prisoners who completed skill development training under the Nishchay program were honored with certificates. This initiative is being considered an important step towards the rehabilitation of prisoners and making them self-reliant in future.

Special gifts also given to children living in women’s jail

Special gifts were also distributed to 14 children living with their mothers in the women’s jail. The faces of the children lit up after receiving gifts and the atmosphere of the jail premises became festive.

Many senior officials of the jail department and administration were present in the inauguration program of this sensitive initiative. These included jail staff and women prisoners including Himanshu Gupta, Yogesh Singh Kshatri, Vijay Chhablani and Garima Pandey.
