Mohammad Hussain, who created a profile on a matrimonial site by presenting himself as ‘Rahul’ and raped a girl on the pretext of marriage. This incident happened on September 22 at Darpan Hotel located in Lordganj police station area of Jabalpur. The 37-year-old victim girl was introduced to the accused through a matrimonial site. Mohammad Hussain, posing as ‘Rahul’, influenced the girl with his false personality. He made an excuse of talking about marriage and called the girl to the hotel. He raped the victim in the hotel.
After the rape, when the victim pressurized her for marriage, the accused clearly refused to marry her. Apart from this, he tried to hush up the matter by threatening the girl. Fed up with the continuous threats she was receiving, the girl lodged a report at the Kotwali police station. She is a resident of Kotwali area of Jabalpur. After the complaint was registered, Lordganj police station took immediate action and registered a case against the accused under various sections. These include serious allegations of physical exploitation and under SC-ST Act.

Police have arrested Mohammad Hussain alias ‘Rahul’. The entire matter is being thoroughly investigated under the leadership of Lordganj police station in-charge. Police say that the false identity card of the accused and his intentions will also be investigated. Besides, the profile of the accused is also being examined to find out how many girls he has contacted through this site.

CSP of Kotwali division Ritesh Kumar Shiv said, “The accused deceived the girl on the pretext of marriage and called her to a hotel and raped her. The accused has been arrested on the complaint of the victim. The investigation of the matter is ongoing. The culprit will be given strict punishment under the law. Besides, it is also being investigated as to how the matrimonial sites matched each other without Aadhaar card. In this regard, a notice is also being sent to the company and its reply is being sought.
