New Delhi: Punjab Kings (PBKS) came up with a heartwarming gesture for a fan who was injured by a six from their batter Priyansh Arya during the team’s clash against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the ongoing IPL 2026. The incident took place at the Punjab Kings’ home ground in Mullanpur.
Krishan Chand, an elderly fan, was struck on his forehead by the ball after a powerful hit from Priyansh during PBKS’ innings against the Lucknow Super Giants. Chand’s face was soon dripping with blood as he appeared in visible pain, with the crowd looking on.
He received immediate medical attention and was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Chand received stitches above his eyebrow during the treatment and is currently stable. The PBKS team reached out to the fan and his family after the incident and came up with a nice gesture for him.
Priyansh Arya and Preity Zinta speak to injured fan on video call
Punjab Kings batter Priyansh and co-owner Preity Zinta spoke to injured Chand on a video call to check on his health. The duo also invited the PBKS fan to attend their upcoming match in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Speaking to Chand, Priyansh said he was concerned after coming across the footage of him getting struck by his shot.
“I saw the video and was worried about whether it was a big injury,” the PBKS batter told Chand. Zinta too echoed similar sentiments and admitted she had been anxious about Chand’s health. The fan, however, took it in good spirits and assured the duo of his well-being.
“I’m fine, thanks to your blessings,” Chand told the duo, reassuring them.

Priyansh and Zinta then extended a personal invitation to the fan, urging him to attend the Punjab Kings’ match against the Delhi Capitals at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on May 11. PBKS have played all their home matches in Mullanpur and will play their remaining home games in Dharamshala this season.
“All our blessings are with you, uncle. If you can, please do come to Dharamsala for the match,” Priyansh told the supporter before Zinta made the invite official. She also cheekily added that the franchise will arrange a helmet for him this time around to keep him safe.
“We would love to invite you to Dharamsala. This time, we’ll arrange a helmet for you, just in case. So that if the ball does come, you are safe and secure,” said Zinta.
Punjab Kings’ gesture for the injured fan has drawn praise from many on social media. While they continue to win hearts with their splendid performances on the field, their off-field gesture for their injured fan has once again won over their fans.
