Disaster force engaged in saving people in Pune

  • Teams of Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), local administration and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) are carrying out relief and rescue work at the spot.
  • The incident occurred early on Monday, after which emergency services were immediately activated. After the call for help was received, the District Information Office confirmed that immediate assistance was sought from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF). According to the District Information Office, Pune, a special team comprising 30 members of the 5th battalion deployed in Pune was immediately sent to the spot.
  • Inspector Ravinder is leading this operation and Assistant Commandant Chandraketu Sharma is monitoring it. The team includes 27 trained soldiers along with two senior officers.
  • The unit left for the village at 5:50 am with advanced rescue equipment to carefully remove debris on unstable ground.

Meteorological Department’s ‘red alert’ even today

  • Let us tell you that it is raining heavily in many parts of Maharashtra at this time. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also issued a ‘red alert’ for today.
  • At the same time, according to the forecast released at 8 am by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), very heavy and continuous rain is expected in Mumbai and its suburbs.

  • The city recorded an average of 105.24 mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. While the eastern suburbs received 161.11 mm rainfall and the western suburbs received 159.40 mm rainfall.
  • Officials said that a high tide of 4.08 meters is expected at 3:56 pm today, while a low tide of 1.52 meters is expected at 10:13 pm. On Tuesday, there will be a high tide of 3.44 meters at 04:38 am and a low tide of 1.86 meters at 09:59 am.
