Puducherry (Tamil Nadu) [India], November 21 (Desk): Puducherry All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) secretary A Anbalagan criticised the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and All India NR Congress government in the union territory, demanding clarification over privatising the power sector. He accused the BJP and NR Congress of indulging in an “anti-people” agenda.
“There is no transparency in the Puducherry government and it should be clarified whether they are going to privatise the power sector or not,” said Anbalagan during a presser, accusing the government of deceiving the public.
He also questioned the Chief Minister for supporting BJP’s wrongful “anti-people” act.
“Puducherry has a servile BJP-NRC Congress coalition government running an anti-people agenda,” the AIADMK leader remarked.
Anbalagan said that this government has planned and decided to sell the profitable power sector to the private sector.

“A case is going on in the Madras High Court regarding the privatisation of the power industry, but in this case he accused the Puducherry government of extending the time period for buying and tendering 21 times But for the privatization of the power sector, the Chief Secretary has ordered that the outstanding amount of Rs 465 crore should be collected immediately, but it is not appropriate for the Power Minister to say that the power sector is running at a loss and that is why there is a need to increase the power tariff,” he added.
The AIADMK also questioned whether the minister who claimed profit of 25 crore rupees last year and claims loss of 300 crore rupees this year can show detailed accounts.
Anbalagan emphasised that there is no need to give power industry worth Rs 10 thousand crores to a private person for Rs 500 crore rupees.

Earlier, Minister Thiru. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, Minister for School Education in Tamil Nadu, launched Nipuni, a career readiness programme, created by Avtar Human Capital Trust (AHCT). The Minister was the chief guest at the 12th Edition of Udyog Utsav, a unique one-day career visioning conference for the girl students who are part of AHCT’s Project Puthri, which is a life skills training program conducted exclusively for girls studying in government and corporation schools across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Bengaluru.
Taking a step further, AHCT’s Nipuni Career Pathing is a transformative career readiness program aimed at empowering college-going girls by enhancing their career opportunities and fostering a skilled, self-reliant workforce capable of thriving in corporate India. (Desk)
