On Sunday, protesters opposing the survey being conducted on the orders of the court in Sambhal’s Jama Masjid clashed with the police and during this, three people died. 20 people including SDM have also been injured in this incident. Officials said that after the uproar in Sambhal, entry of outsiders, social organizations and public representatives has been banned till December 1. In view of the very sensitive situation, the administration has taken this step.
Officials said that in view of the tension after the violence, internet services have been stopped in Sambhal tehsil. Also, orders have been given to keep all schools up to class 12 closed today.
Miscreants opened fire
According to the police, the protesters tried to burn vehicles and pelted stones at the police, following which the police fired tear gas shells and resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. An officer said that the miscreants opened fire and some shrapnel hit our policemen. We are investigating where the bullets were fired, especially in Deepa Sarai area.

Moradabad Division Commissioner Anjaneya Singh said in Sambhal that in this case there were two-three groups of miscreants who were firing continuously. The police administration safely took out the team that had come to conduct the survey. Anjaneya Singh said that three people aged between 20 to 25 years have died in this violence. The deceased have been identified as Naeem, resident of Mohalla Kot Garvi, Bilal, resident of Sarayatrin and Noman, resident of Hayatnagar.
20 people including SDM injured
Divisional Commissioner said that a total of 20 people have been injured in this violence, firing and stone pelting. In the incident, Superintendent of Police’s Public Relations Officer (PRO) Sanjeev Kumar was shot in the leg while SDM Ramesh Chandra’s leg was broken. Apart from this, Sambhal police area officer Anuj Kumar has also been hit by shrapnel.
Heavy stone pelting and firing
District Magistrate Rajendra Pesiya said that there was no stone pelting for the first two hours of the survey. Later it was announced from the mosque that the survey work had been completed. After which a large number of people living in the nearby area reached the spot and heavy stone pelting and firing started. He said that anyone inciting the mob and conspiring to commit violence will not be spared.
