Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran’s recent crime action thriller, Khalifa, failed to make an impact at the box office and ended up as a commercial disappointment. Looking to give the film a wider push, the makers have now taken an aggressive digital route. The Vysakh-directed movie has landed on streaming platforms across multiple regions.
As announced, Khalifa is now streaming across 6 OTT platforms: Amazon Prime Video, Aha, ManoramaMAX, Lionsgate Play, STARZPLAY (overseas), and Simply South (overseas). Telugu viewers can catch the dubbed version on either Aha or Amazon Prime Video. It remains to be seen how the film performs with home audiences after its poor theatrical run.
The project was backed as one of the biggest-budget films in Malayalam cinema, but theatrical collections did not favor the producers. The supporting cast includes Malavika Sharma, Shammi Thilakan, Indrans, Suresh Oberoi, Renji Panicker, and Mohini. Megastar Mohanlal and Tovino Thomas also make brief cameo appearances.
