BJP President Nitin Naveen said in Warangal that the struggling life of President Draupadi Murmu is a matter of honor for the tribal society. He said that his becoming President gives a message to the world that India salutes the struggle of its tribal brothers and sisters.
Warangal (Telangana) [भारत]June 29 (ANI): BJP national president Nitin Naveen on Sunday lauded President Draupadi Murmu’s journey from a tribal background to the country’s highest constitutional post. He said that his reaching this post shows India’s respect for the struggles and dignity of the tribal community.
Addressing them during his interaction with members of the tribal community in Warangal, Telangana, Naveen said President Murmu’s life and achievements send a powerful message to the country and the world about India’s commitment to honor its tribal citizens.
‘President Murmu a message to the world’
Naveen said, “It is significant that a woman from the tribal community, whose life has been full of struggles, has been given the honor of serving as the country’s first citizen and President.”
He further said that President Murmu’s visit symbolizes the country’s recognition of the sacrifices and contributions of the tribal communities.
He said, “In Draupadi Murmu, we have a President who gives a message not only to the country or society, but to the entire world that India bows with reverence towards the struggles of its tribal brothers and sisters and respects their dignity.”
Highlighting President Murmu’s personal journey, the BJP leader said, “Today, the first citizen of India is a woman – a President who has struggled in life, fought for social causes, and now graces the highest office.”
Remembered Lord Birsa Munda
Naveen also paid tribute to tribal freedom fighter Lord Birsa Munda and talked about his personal connection with Ranchi.
He said, “On this day, I certainly pay my respects to the land of Lord Birsa Munda. You will be happy to know that Ranchi – the land of Lord Birsa Munda – is also my birthplace.”
‘PM Modi gave true respect’
The BJP national president credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for recognizing the contribution of the tribal community and its leaders.
Naveen said, “I believe that our leader, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has really honored the community and its veterans, and paid tribute to their struggles.”
His comments came during his interaction with members of the tribal community in Warangal as part of the BJP’s outreach efforts in Telangana.
The focus of the interaction was to acknowledge the contribution of tribal communities in the development of the nation and highlight the Centre’s emphasis on their welfare and empowerment.
President Draupadi Murmu, who assumed office in July 2022, is the first tribal President of India and the second woman to hold the country’s highest constitutional post. (ANI)
