Prayagraj. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the inauguration and foundation stone laying program of the newly constructed Sadan Hall of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation and various development projects on Tuesday that the development journey of Uttar Pradesh is continuously moving forward. He said that the work of the government is continuing without any stop like the continuous stream of Mother Ganga. Referring to “Charaiveti-Charaiveti”, the Chief Minister said that Prayagraj is now emerging as a shining example of spiritual heritage, cultural identity and modern development.
Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025: Kumbh facilities will become a permanent legacy
The Chief Minister said that before the year 2017, the identity of Kumbh and Magh Mela was associated with chaos, filth and stampedes. People used to avoid coming to Prayagraj. But in the year 2019, the Kumbh organized under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi attracted the attention of the whole world. Indian culture got global recognition after UNESCO granted the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity to Prayagraj Kumbh.
He said that during the preparations for Kumbh-2019 and Mahakumbh-2025, the double engine government developed roads, electricity, sanitation, ghats and other basic facilities in Prayagraj on a large scale. If these facilities are maintained better then these arrangements will become the permanent heritage of the city by the next Kumbh.
Prayagraj Development Projects: Municipal Corporation got modern form
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Municipal Corporation and the Mayor and said that work is being done by taking heritage and development together in Prayagraj. He said that during the preparations for Mahakumbh-2025, it was decided that the city would be given a new identity.
He said that the 161 year old Municipal Corporation building has been given a modern and grand look. A new modern House Hall has been prepared for the councilors. Projects worth about Rs 400 crore are being inaugurated and the foundation stone is being laid by the Municipal Corporation. Projects like Zonal Park and Shivalik Park are also being developed in the city.
Waste to Wealth Model: Shivalik Park becomes center of attraction
The Chief Minister described Shivalik Park as a successful example of “Waste to Wealth” model. He said that attractive replicas of the twelve Jyotirlingas have been made from about 400 tonnes of waste material, which remain the center of attraction among the people. Such innovations are working to give a new identity to Prayagraj.
Akshay Vat Darshan: Religious places open for devotees
The Chief Minister said that earlier the darshan of Akshay Vat was not possible for the common people, but in the year 2019, with the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, it was opened for devotees. Now devotees can also drink water from Saraswati well along with darshan of Akshaya Vat.
He said that Maharishi Bhardwaj Ashram struggled with the problem of encroachment for a long time, but now it has been freed and given a grand look. Describing Maharishi Bhardwaj as the world’s first Vice Chancellor, the Chief Minister said that Prayagraj is regaining its cultural identity.
Prayagraj Smart City: Development reaching every ward
The Chief Minister said that today the roads of Prayagraj have become wide and modern. The city is creating a new identity as a smart city. The Municipal Corporation and public representatives are working together to bring development to every ward and locality.
Mafia Free Prayagraj: Emphasis on security and good governance
The Chief Minister said that a few years ago there was an atmosphere of fear, mafia and anarchy in Prayagraj. Public lands were encroached upon and development was halted. But now Prayagraj is completely free from mafia and hooliganism. He said that today women, businessmen and common citizens can move anywhere without fear. The government is continuously working with the goal of security, good governance and prosperity.
Ganga Expressway Prayagraj: Delhi journey becomes easier
The Chief Minister said that after the construction of Ganga Expressway, the distance from Prayagraj to Delhi has reduced significantly. Now people can reach Delhi in about seven hours. He said that the journey on this expressway built with world-class technology is very comfortable. He informed that a four-lane bridge is being constructed on the Ganga river at a cost of approximately Rs 1000 crore. The work of Phaphamau bridge will also be completed soon. The government is trying to get these projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prayagraj Mega Projects: Work continues on many new schemes
The Chief Minister said that many big development works are currently proposed in Prayagraj and the government will take them forward rapidly. Remembering Lord Prayagraj, Akshay Vat, Mother Ganga and Lord Veni Madhav, he said that the development journey of Prayagraj will continue to move forward.
Honor to Safai Mitras and launch of website
During the program, the Chief Minister released a book based on the achievements of Prayagraj Municipal Corporation in the last three years. Besides, the new website of Prayagraj Fair Authority was also launched. The Chief Minister honored the Safai Mitras and distributed safety kits including caps, gloves, boots, masks and coats to them. During this period many public representatives and officials were also present.
