After the ongoing dispute between the Akharas in Prayagraj Mahakumbh of Uttar Pradesh, another Akhara Parishad has entered. Its name is Akhil Bharatiya Vaishnav Akhara Parishad. After the two existing Akhara Parishads, the third Akhara Parishad has been formed. For the first time, three Akhara Parishads will work in Mahakumbh.
The President of All India Vaishnav Akhara Parishad will be Shri Mahant Rajendra Das. He is also the present president of Shri Nirmohi Ani Akhara. At the same time, General Secretary Shri Digambar will be Baba Hathayogi of Ani Akhara. Mahant Rajendra Das told that its formal announcement will be made in the next meeting of the saints of Vaishnav Akharas. Through this, 18 Akharas of Vaishnav will be united. This decision has been taken after the dispute between Sanyasi and Vaishnav Akharas on November 7.
The form of the third Akhara Parishad will be different
Akhara Parishad, which played a leading role in organizing Mahakumbh, has been deeply involved with controversies. The biggest reason for controversies has been the fight for supremacy in the Akharas. The reasons for the controversy have been different every time. There have been allegations of using this organization to create pressure to acquire more and more land and facilities in the Kumbh area to set up their own Akharas during the Maha Kumbh or Kumbh.
In the meeting of the Akharas held on November 7 to inspect the land before giving land to the Akharas in the Kumbh area for the Maha Kumbh to be organized in 2025, the dispute among the council came out into the open. As a result of this, the third Akhara Council Formation is done. All India Vaishnav Akhara Parishad will be the representative body of all the Vishnu worshipers, claims the President of the Council, Shri Mahant Rajendra Das. If we talk about the form of the council, then the president and the general secretary have been selected in it. The form and election process of the remaining office bearers will be discussed in the next meeting of Vaishnav Akharas.
Akhara Parishad’s influence reduced in Mahakumbh
Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad has played an important role in organizing Mahakumbh. The Kumbh Mela administration has been making arrangements for the Kumbh under the guidance of this organization. Due to this role, the importance of Akhara Parishad becomes important in organizing Kumbh. After the death of former president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad, Mahant Narendra Giri in 2021, the Akhara Parishad got divided into two groups. One group is led by Mahant Ravindra Puri, President of Panchayati Akhara Maha Nirvani, who also has the support of Vaishnav Akharas. Shri Mahant Rajendra Das has also been a part of this.
The second faction of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad is led by Niranjani Akhara Secretary Ravindra Puri, who has the support of Mahant Hari Giri of Juna Akhara. In this way, the reason for internal discord in the Akhara Parishad is the lack of mutual agreement between the Sanyasi and Vaishnav Akharas. The formation of the third Akhara Parishad has emerged from this controversy.
