A sensational case has come to light in Sangam city Prayagraj. Here an uncle and nephew were beaten to death for lighting a lamp on Diwali. Sensation spread in the area after the incident. Police have registered the case and arrested five people. Further action is going on in the case.
The matter is of Kajri Garh village of Gangapar Uttarav police station area of Prayagraj. Here the families of Dilip Kumar Dubey and Abhilash Yadav live opposite each other. It is being told that there is a dispute going on between the two families regarding an adjacent land for 20 years. On the day of Diwali, people of Dilip Dubey’s house lit a lamp on the same disputed land.

People from Abhilash Yadav’s side protested against lighting a lamp on the disputed land. But the fight escalated so much that both sides started using sticks. It is alleged that Abhilash Yadav’s people beat Pawan Dubey and Rajendra Prasad so much that both of them got badly injured. After the incident, both of them were admitted to the hospital for treatment where their condition remained critical. Both of them died during treatment on Monday.

When the body of uncle and nephew reached the village, the family and villagers refused to perform the last rites. Angered by the incident, people said that first of all, bulldozing action should be taken on the house of the accused and a compensation of Rs 50 lakh should be given to the deceased’s family. The police tried to convince the people for several hours but the angry people remained adamant on their demand. Late in the evening, the DM, Additional Commissioner and DCP somehow convinced the family to cremate the dead bodies. At present, the police have registered a case in this incident and arrested 5 people.
