TV actor Rohit Chandel is embroiled in a serious legal dispute. He was arrested after the complaint of the minor and now the investigation of the entire case is going on under the POCSO Act.
Actor Rohit Chandel, who made his mark with TV shows like ‘Pandya Store’ and ‘Kashibai Bajirao Ballal’, is embroiled in a legal dispute. Mumbai Police has arrested him on the basis of the complaint of a 16-year-old minor girl. The actor has reportedly been accused of stalking, harassing and assault. Police have registered a case in this matter under relevant sections of the POCSO Act and the Indian Justice Code (BNS). The accused was produced before the special POCSO court, from where he was sent to police custody. At present, the investigation of the case is going on and the allegations are yet to be judicially investigated.
What is the whole matter of Rohit Chandel arrest?
According to the report, the girl’s family lodged a complaint with the police that the actor had been calling her repeatedly from different mobile numbers for a long time, due to which she was mentally disturbed. The complaint also said that on July 5, the actor went near her house in the eastern suburbs of Mumbai and tried to talk to her.
What allegations has the minor made against the actor?
According to the police, the complaint alleges that Rohit Chandel stalked the girl, argued with her, allegedly abused her and even hit her with his hands. On the basis of these allegations, the police have registered a case of stalking, causing hurt and under POCSO Act. Mumbai Police has registered a case under provisions of the POCSO Act, including section 78 (stalking) and section 115(2) (causing hurt) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS). Police say that after receiving the complaint, the accused was arrested and detailed investigation of the case is going on.
Did Rohit Chandel and the complainant already know each other?
According to the investigating agencies, the complainant and the actor already knew each other. However, the police has not yet shared any official information about the kind of relationship between the two. A clear picture on this aspect will emerge only after the investigation is completed.

Till now no official response has been issued by the actor or his team on these allegations. The police have also clarified that the investigation into the matter is ongoing and further action will be taken based on the results of the investigation. At present the allegations are yet to be proved in the court. According to the police officer, “After receiving the complaint, a case was registered and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation into the matter is underway.”
