Pooja Hegde is returning to the big screen alongside Vijay in Jana Nayagan. According to industry buzz, the actress’ screen time has been reduced considerably during the final edit, making her character much shorter than what was originally planned and shot. Pooja reportedly plays a journalist in the film. However, sources claim that director H Vinoth trimmed several portions involving her character in the final edit. The decision is said to have been taken to maintain the film’s pace and keep the focus on Vijay’s character and the core political drama.
This is Pooja Hegde’s second collaboration with Vijay after Beast. Jana Nayagan itself has undergone several modifications over the past few months. After the CBFC-related delays, the makers reworked multiple portions of the film, added new scenes and songs, and made several edits before locking the final version for release. These changes may have also contributed to the reduction in Pooja Hegde’s screen time. Mamita Baiju and Bobby Deol will be seen in other important roles in Jana Nayagan. The film releases tomorrow in theatres and KVN Productions are the producers.
