Police arrested the person who played cricket with Sachin-Dravid, it is a case of money embezzlement

Police have arrested a former cricketer in Nagpur, Maharashtra, in a check bounce case. The former cricketer who has been arrested has played cricket for Team India with Sachin Tendulkar and Mohammad Azharuddin. However, former cricketer Prashant Vaidya later got bail.

According to news agency PTI, a non-bailable warrant was already issued against former Indian cricketer Prashant Vaidya. Taking action in this case, the police have now made this arrest. The police officer said that Vaidya, who played one ODI match for the Indian team in the 90s, was produced in the court which released him on personal bond.

Why was the former cricketer arrested?

Bajaj Nagar police station inspector Vitthalsingh Rajput said that he had allegedly purchased steel from a local businessman and issued a check which bounced, following which the businessman demanded fresh payment.

He told that the cricketer allegedly refused to pay so the businessman approached the court, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him for not attending the court hearing. Vaidya is currently the head of the Cricket Development Committee of Vidarbha Cricket Association.

The amazing thing is that all the matches that Prashant Vaidya has played for Team India in his career have been played abroad only.
