Katihar: A shocking video has surfaced from Katihar Railway Station in Bihar, in which the health of passengers is being openly played with. In this video, some women are seen sitting on the platform and immersing stale and dry cucumbers in green chemical water. The aim was to make these cucumbers look fresh and sell them to the passengers. This video went viral on social media platform X, after which anger spread among the people.
As soon as the video went viral, the Railway Service took cognizance of the matter and directed Katihar RPF to take action. A team led by RPF Inspector Vikram took immediate action and detained 9 women. During interrogation, the women confessed that they were using a chemical to color the cucumbers, which is often used to color sweets at weddings.
RPF has sent samples of these chemicals to the lab for testing to know how dangerous it is for health. RPF has informed that strict legal action has been initiated against the caught women.
This is not the first time that questions have been raised on the quality of food items sold at railway stations. This incident once again brings to the fore the serious issue of how some vendors put people’s health at stake for more profits. On social media, people are demanding strict monitoring and action from the Railway Administration in such cases.
