Pollution in the country’s capital Delhi and NCR is breaking all its records. At present the air quality level of the national capital i.e. AQI is above 450, which is considered to be in the very serious category. In such a situation, the government has also implemented GRAP-3, but despite this no effect is being seen. In winter, the air pollution situation in Delhi NCR reaches the bad category. To control this, GRAP is implemented in four phases.
In view of the serious situation of pollution, the Delhi government has ordered closure of schools up to class five, although online classes will continue. Apart from this, people have been advised not to leave the house unnecessarily because many diseases can occur due to pollution. According to Central Pollution Control Board’s app Sameer, today Delhi’s air quality index is 404, which falls in the severe category. In some areas the AQI is above 450.

Special attention on water sprinkling
Commission for Air Quality Management i.e. CAQM has given instructions to clean the roads with machines. Apart from this, it has also been said to increase water sprinkling on the roads in hotspot areas. According to the instructions, it has been asked to pay special attention to water sprinkling during peak traffic. Delhi Minister Gopal Rai said on Friday that in view of pollution, 106 buses will run as shuttle services, metro trains will make 60 additional trips.
