BJP to launch ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’

BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde said the meeting was held after the formation of the party’s new team and that the Prime Minister’s guidance would help the organisation advance its ideology and continue working in the interest of the nation. Vinod Tawde announced that the BJP will launch the nationwide ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years of public life. He said the campaign aims to take the spirit of service associated with PM Modi’s public life to every section of society.

Tawde said various service activities, programmes to connect beneficiaries with government schemes and initiatives to engage youth in service and innovation will be organised under the campaign. He said the “first National Office Bearers meeting was followed by a workshop for state presidents, organisation general secretaries and teams of seven to eight workers selected from each state for the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’. The party is preparing to take the campaign to the booth level across the country. “

Tawde added that the BJP has been organising ‘Seva Pakhwada’ every year on September 17 on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birth anniversary. He added that this year’s campaign is significant as October 7 marks 25 years since PM Modi took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, leading the party to organise the month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.

During the campaign, BJP workers will honour Anganwadi workers and organise ‘Matri Samvad’ programmes with them. Party workers will reach more than 1.4 million Anganwadi centres across the country to recognise the contribution of workers engaged in child nutrition and care. The BJP will also organise ‘Seva Mein Mera Yogdan’, encouraging youth and citizens to create reels showcasing service activities such as cleanliness drives, tree plantation and efforts to identify TB patients and connect them with government schemes.

Tawde said the ‘Seva Setu Abhiyan’ will ensure that eligible beneficiaries are not deprived of government welfare schemes. Under the initiative, department-level camps will be organised at block levels for 15 days to help people enrol in schemes such as Ayushman Bharat and Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. The BJP will also organise a ‘National Innovation Challenge’ to encourage youth participation and invite solutions to local issues through research and innovation at block, district and state levels. The party said the national-level workshop has been completed, while state-level workshops will be organised by August 31, followed by district and block-level workshops.

The ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will run from September 17 to October 17 and will be taken to the booth level by BJP workers.

BJP passes resolution on ‘Vande Mataram’

During the meeting, the BJP also passed a resolution on the issue of ‘Vande Mataram’, condemning the Congress Working Committee’s decision to restrict the singing of the National Song to its first two stanzas at party programmes. The BJP said it considers ‘Vande Mataram’ as India’s National Song, an expression of reverence for Bharat Mata, a mantra of the freedom struggle and a symbol of India’s national consciousness. The party said it would oppose the decision to limit ‘Vande Mataram’ to two stanzas and protect the honour and legacy of the full six-stanza National Song. It also announced a nationwide campaign to spread awareness about its history and significance.
