On March 13, 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had released the 22nd installment of this scheme from Guwahati, Assam. At that time, Rs 2,000 each were sent directly to the bank accounts of more than 9.3 crore farmers across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). Now once again the eyes of the farmers are fixed on the next i.e. the 23rd instalment. This money comes directly into your bank account, but a slight mistake can stop this relief midway.
In which month will the money be credited to the account?
PM Kisan Yojana has simple mathematics. The government provides a total cash assistance of Rs 6,000 to farmers every year. It has been divided into three installments of Rs 2,000 each. According to the system, the first installment comes between April and July. The second installment is released during August to November and the third installment is released between December and March. Since the 22nd installment has arrived in March 2026, it is now time for the 23rd installment of the April-July cycle. According to the current assessment, this amount can be transferred to the accounts of farmers anytime between June or July 2026. However, the final date is yet to be announced by the Agriculture Ministry.
Payment may stop due to these three mistakes
It has often been seen that even after the announcement, the credit message does not come to the bank accounts of many farmers. The biggest reason for this is paper errors. If you want your payment to come without any interruption, then fulfill three important conditions today. First of all update your e-KYC. You can do this work by going to your nearest CSC center through biometric method or sitting at home through OTP on PM Kisan Portal. Another important task is to link your bank account with Aadhar card. Since the government sends money directly to Aadhaar base, the transaction fails if Aadhaar seeding is not done. The third important condition is verification of your land. Your land verification work should be completed in government documents.
Government keeps a close eye on ineligible people
The government is now maintaining complete transparency in this scheme. Those who are taking wrong advantage of the scheme are being shown the way out. The rules are very clear. If anyone has purchased agricultural land after February 1, 2019, he will not get the benefit of this scheme. Similarly, if in the same family both husband and wife are availing the benefits of this scheme separately, then if caught in the investigation, their installments will be stopped with immediate effect.
Find out your status in a jiffy
There is no need to visit any government office to check whether money will come into your account or not. You can check the status from your mobile sitting at home. For this just go to the official website of PM Kisan (pmkisan.gov.in). There ‘Farmers Corner’ will be visible on the homepage. In this, click on ‘Know Your Status’. After this enter your registration number or your Aadhaar number. Finally, fill the captcha code shown on the screen and press the ‘Get Status’ button. Within a few seconds, complete details of previous installments and current payment status will appear on your screen.
