Why does your money get stuck?

The government now sends every beneficiary’s money directly to their Aadhaar-linked bank account, called the Aadhaar-Based Payment System (ABPS). If there is no proper coordination of this system between your account and Aadhaar, then your installment money will get stuck in the middle. There can be mainly four reasons for money not coming into your account:

1. Non-completion of e-KYC

It is almost impossible to get the next installment in the year 2026 without e-KYC. The government has made it mandatory for all registered farmers. If you have not completed it yet, you can complete it through OTP by visiting PM-Kisan portal. Apart from this, now the facility of face authentication (face scanning technology) has also come in PM-Kisan mobile app, through which you can do your KYC sitting at home even without OTP. If you want, you can go to your nearest CSC center and get it completed through biometric method also.

2. Spelling mistake in name (Name Mismatch)

This is the biggest mistake made by farmers today. If the name in your Aadhar card is ‘Ramesh Kumar’ and in the records of PM Kisan only ‘Ramesh’ is written, then the system will stop your money. For payment of money, the spelling of the name should match letter by letter with the Aadhaar card.

3. Delay in Land Seeding

The rules regarding land seeding have been made very strict from April 2026. If ‘No’ is written next to ‘Land Seeding’ in your status, your installment will be stopped. This means that your land documents are not linked to the central database of PM Kisan. To get this corrected, you will have to contact your local Patwari or Agriculture Officer with your Khatauni (land documents), Aadhar card and bank passbook.

4. Bank account not being linked to Aadhaar and NPCI

PM Kisan funds now go only to accounts that are linked to Aadhaar and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) mapper. Many times farmers feel that they have given Aadhaar while opening the account, but if it is not active on NPCI, then the money will not come. For this, you will have to go to your bank branch and get your bank account linked to Aadhaar.

How to correct your mistake sitting at home?

We advise you that instead of waiting for the installment, it is better to check your status today itself and remove the deficiency.

  • First of all go to the official website pmkisan.gov.in.
  • There go to ‘Farmers Corner’ and click on the option of ‘Know Your Status’.
  • Enter your registration number or Aadhaar number and check your complete status by entering the OTP received on your mobile.
  • If there is a mistake in your name, you can correct it through the “Edit Aadhaar Failure Records” or “Name Correction as per Aadhaar” option available on the website. Apart from this, name can also be corrected by scanning the face through PM-Kisan mobile app.
