PM Kisan: Good news for 9.44 crore farmers! 23rd installment of PM Kisan will be released on this day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 23rd installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) Scheme on June 20. On this occasion, Rs 18,880 crore will be directly transferred to the accounts of more than 9.44 crore farmers across the country. This amount will reach the farmers through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), which will help them with farming expenses and strengthen their income security.

Farmers will get gifts on West Bengal tour

Prime Minister Modi will release this installment during his visit to Hooghly district of West Bengal. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that in West Bengal alone, more than 45.35 lakh farmers will get assistance worth about Rs 907 crore. With this, the total amount distributed under PM-Kisan scheme in the state will exceed Rs 15,055 crore. At the same time, since the beginning of the scheme in the year 2019, the total amount distributed to farmers across the country will cross the figure of Rs 4.46 lakh crore.

Crop insurance schemes will also be started

During this visit, the Prime Minister will also launch the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) and the Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS). The total budget of these schemes has been fixed at approximately Rs 12,200 crore.

The government aims to bring about 30 lakh hectares of agricultural area under insurance coverage by the year 2026-27 and benefit 1.10 crore farmers. Under this, crops worth about Rs 28,140 crore will be provided protection.

Digital agriculture and natural farming will get a boost

Under the Digital Agriculture Mission, the Prime Minister will also launch a modern agri-tech platform. This platform will integrate features like fertilizer distribution, Kisan Credit Card, DBT services and government procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Apart from this, National Natural Farming Mission will also be started. Under the scheme, 346 natural farming centers will be established in West Bengal, which will cover an area of ​​17,300 hectares. With this, 43,250 farmers will get training, organic farming resources and opportunities to connect with the market.

Inauguration of rural road projects

Under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY-III), 49 road projects costing more than Rs 213 crore will also be inaugurated. These roads, more than 315 kilometers long, will improve the connectivity of rural areas, make farmers’ access to markets easier and also improve access to education and health services.
