Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will today transfer Rs 1460.25 crore to the accounts of 10.54 lakh farmers under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme. Cabinet meeting will also be held in Jagdishpur.

Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will transfer the insurance amount of Rs 1460.25 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana to the bank accounts of 10.54 lakh farmers of the state through a single click on July 19 from Jagdishpur in Bhopal district. During this program, a meeting of the State Council of Ministers (Cabinet) will also be organized in Jagdishpur.

Farmers got big benefits under Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme

Since the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a total insurance claim of Rs 30,942.34 crore has been paid to the affected farmers of Madhya Pradesh till the year 2024-25. Through this scheme, financial relief is provided to the farmers affected by natural disasters, so that their farming and livelihood can be strengthened.

The scheme provides financial security to farmers from natural disasters

Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme is included in the major farmer friendly schemes of the Government of India. Its objective is to protect the economic interests of farmers by providing them insurance claims in case of damage to crops due to natural calamities, irregular weather, excessive rainfall, drought, hailstorm or other reasons. This provides financial support to the farmers in times of crisis and continuity of farming is maintained.

Seeing the impact of El Nino, the Chief Minister appealed to the farmers

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that due to the effect of El Nino this year, the chances of a better than normal monsoon are said to be less. In such a situation, farmers must get their notified crops insured before the scheduled last date, so that in case of crop loss, they can get the benefit of the insurance amount on time.

Madhya Pradesh government is continuously working in the interest of farmers.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government stands with the farmers in every situation. The state government is continuously implementing effective schemes to protect the interests of the farmers and strengthen their economic condition, so that the farmers continue to get relief even in the event of natural disaster.
