After Diwali, there is a huge crowd of passengers gathering at the railway stations in view of Chhath Puja. In such a situation, the crowd management system of the Railways is beginning to collapse. In view of the situation, Railways has stopped the sale of platform tickets at New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations. According to railway officials, this arrangement has been made to maintain passenger convenience on the platform. According to the Railways, it is often seen that three to four people have started reaching the platform to board one or two passengers in the train. This has increased the crowd on the platforms.
According to railway officials, in view of the situation, the sale of platform tickets at New Delhi and Anand Vihar railway stations has been temporarily stopped from Monday. This ban will last till 18 November. After the Chhath Puja crowd subsides, the sale of platform tickets will be started again. Railways hopes that this arrangement will reduce the crowd on the platform by 15 to 20 percent.
