Police has shared information on the horrific road accident that took place on Tuesday in Gomtinagar police station area of Uttar Pradesh. According to the police, two people have been arrested in connection with the accidental death of Additional SP Shweta Srivastava’s son on the morning of 21 November. Police have also recovered the vehicle from both the accused. The accused told during interrogation that Devashree Verma’s uncle bought a new XUV 700 two months ago and her uncle had come to attend a program in Lucknow.
DCP East Ashish Srivastava said that Devshree confessed during interrogation that both she and her partner wanted to drive the car at high speed, hence she stole the keys of the car from her uncle at night. Devashree Verma and her partner Sarthak Singh were driving after placing a bet. Of the two accused, only Sarthak has a learning license. Both of them took the car and reached G20 Road. Devshree Verma was driving the car, after which Sarthak Singh took the steering of the car and during that time he ran the car over a person walking on the footpath.
Sarthak has been made the main accused in the entire case. At the same time, 201 action is being taken against Sarthak’s father because when Sarthak went home and told the whole story, his father tried to hide the car. But while conducting the raid, the police also seized the vehicle. Police have made these revelations in the case of Additional SP’s son being crushed by an SUV. The police have arrested Devashree and Sarthak while taking action in the case of culpable homicide.
According to the information, accused student Sarthak is doing BBA in Amity University. Devashree Verma is an engineering student. Police have recovered white color XUV UP 32 NT 6669. This car belongs to Kanpur jeweler Anshul Verma. Jeweler Anshul seems to be Devashree’s uncle. Police have identified both the accused and the vehicle from CCTV footage. Sarthak’s father Ravindra Singh alias Pappu has been SP District Panchayat member from Ramnagar from Barabanki.
