Phulpur by-election: Action against rebel Congress leader Suresh Chandra Yadav, party relieved him from his post

The political heat has heated up regarding the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. On the last day of nomination, a rift in the India Alliance came to the fore in Phulpur seat when District Congress Committee Prayagraj Gangapar President Suresh Chandra Yadav filed his nomination. Considering Suresh Chandra Yadav’s action as serious indiscipline, UP Party has immediately relieved him from the post.

On behalf of the Congress Party, it was said that Suresh Chandra Yadav, President of District Congress Committee Prayagraj Gangapar, filed nomination papers against the candidate of India Alliance in the Phulpur Assembly by-election against the decision of the party leadership. Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee President and former minister Shri Ajay Rai, considering this as serious indiscipline, has relieved him from his post with immediate effect.

Also sought clarification within 24 hours

Ajay Rai told PTI that along with removing Suresh Chandra Yadav from the post, he has also been asked to give an explanation within 24 hours. Suresh Chandra Yadav, a resident of village Sonauti of Gangapar Jhunsi in Prayagraj district, surprised everyone when he filed nomination papers as an independent candidate from Phulpur seat in the District Collectorate.

Congress

There is an alliance between Congress and Samajwadi Party in the by-elections being held on 9 assembly seats in UP. There is an alliance, but only Samajwadi Party candidates are contesting on all the seats. In such a situation, it is believed that a rebel Congress candidate in Phulpur can spoil the game of Samajwadi Party.

Akhilesh Yadav targeted BJP

However, amidst all this, Akhilesh Yadav has taken a dig at BJP for making his relative Anujesh Yadav the candidate from Karhal. Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP was against familyism, but these people turned out to be relatives. Akhilesh Yadav also said that where there is BJP there is destruction.

Mayawati’s BSP declared candidates for Khair seat

Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) on Friday announced its candidate for the last remaining Khair assembly seat in Uttar Pradesh. The party has fielded Dalit Pahal Singh from Khair seat reserved for Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates. Friday was the last date for filing nominations for the by-election. The party had announced candidates for eight other by-election seats on Thursday.
