Petrol Diesel Price Hike: Petrol and diesel rates have increased again across the country. Oil companies have increased oil rates for the fourth time in 11 days. The situation is worst in Madhya Pradesh. Because here fuel is being sold the most expensive in MP due to VAT and road cess of the state government. The continuously increasing prices have increased the concern of the common man.
There is an outcry in the country due to the fourth consecutive increase in the prices of petrol and diesel. From Kashmir to Kanyakumari, the common man is facing the fear of inflation. He was already scared of rising inflation, but now he is further shocked as to what will happen in the coming days. But petrol and diesel are being sold the most expensive in Madhya Pradesh. That means the people of MP are forced to buy expensive oil from Delhi-Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Chennai. Let us tell you that oil companies have increased the prices by Rs 8 per liter in 11 days.
Petrol and diesel are getting the most expensive in these districts of MP
In fact, after the new rate increase, diesel has crossed Rs 100 in Madhya Pradesh, while petrol is available for one liter after paying Rs 116 or more. In Bhopal Indore, where petrol is being sold at Rs 114, diesel has reached Rs 99. Whereas in districts like Seoni, Khandwa, Mandla, Sidhi, Shivpuri, petrol is available for more than Rs 116. So diesel has crossed Rs 100 in these districts.
Petrol-diesel rates in big cities of MP
- Bhopal Petrol ₹114.65, Diesel ₹99.74
- Indore Petrol ₹114.54, Diesel ₹99.57
- Jabalpur Petrol ₹114.39, Diesel ₹99.52
- Gwalior Petrol ₹114.60, Diesel ₹99.59
- Ujjain petrol ₹115.03, diesel ₹100.1

This is why petrol and diesel are the most expensive in Madhya Pradesh.
Let us tell you that the rates of petrol and diesel are decided by the Government of India. If the price of crude oil imported from abroad increases, then the oil rates in the country also increase. Whereas in India, after it comes out of the refinery, the central government imposes excise duty and road cess on it. The prices increase much more than this. Apart from this, due to different VAT rates of every state, fuel prices also differ. But Madhya Pradesh government is currently imposing the highest VAT and road cess in the country. Due to which the prices here are higher than other states.
