Latest rates of petrol and diesel
Today, on the morning of Friday, May 29, there is news of relief for the common man. There is no new change in the prices of petrol and diesel across the country today. The prices remain completely stable. Amidst the slight softening of crude oil prices in the international market, government petroleum companies have not made any change in the prices of fuel in the domestic market today. This pause is also important because oil prices have been increased four times in the country within the last 11 days. In a metropolitan city like Delhi, petrol has become costlier by Rs 7.35 and diesel by Rs 7.82 per liter in just these few days.

The major reason behind huge losses of companies
The instability in crude oil prices globally has changed the entire picture. Due to the recently started Iran war, crude oil has become expensive by almost 50 percent. However, today some decline has been recorded in the international market. Standard Brent crude has fallen 0.62 percent to $ 92.62 per barrel. WTI crude is also trading at $ 87.79 per barrel. Despite this, the ‘Indian Basket Crude’ that India buys still remains at a high level of $102.10 per barrel. Due to this inflation of crude oil, government oil companies are facing huge losses of about Rs 1,380 crore every day on the sale of petrol, diesel, cooking gas (LPG) and jet fuel.
