The Delhi government can announce a new electric vehicle policy (EV 2.0) tomorrow. According to sources, the sale of two -wheelers from petrol and CNG may stop selling two -wheelers from 15 August 2026 in Delhi under the policy. Also, from 15 August 2025, a new registration of three-wheelers running from petrol, diesel and CNG in Delhi will stop and it will be mandatory to convert CNG auto older than 10 years into electric.
According to sources, after the implementation of the new EV 2.0 policy on April 15, if the name of one person is 2 petrol or diesel car, then the third car will be registered. Apart from this, under the new EV 2.0 policy of Delhi Government, all vehicles of Delhi, NDMC and Jal Board will have to be fully electrically electricly.
The number of EV charging stations will be increased
Under the policy, the number of EV charging stations and battery swapping centers in Delhi will be increased so that the facility of charging can be accessible. Currently, Delhi has a total of 1 thousand 919 electric charging stations and 2 thousand 452 charging points and 232 battery swapping centers. The policy proposes to install 13,200 public charging points in Delhi, so that a charging station is available every 5 km radius.
Women subsidies up to 36 thousand
Apart from this, after the implementation of this policy, the government can give a subsidy of up to 36 thousand to the first 10 thousand women of Delhi on purchasing two -wheeler electric vehicles, then after men and 10 thousand women, other women can also give a subsidy of Rs 30,000 to other women by the year 2030.
After the implementation of the policy, if someone buys a new electric auto (L5M category), then the government can get a subsidy of up to ₹ 10,000 per kW. Also, the government can give subsidy of up to ₹ 75,000 on four -wheeler electric commercial vehicle purchase and can give a subsidy of one and a half lakhs on four wheelers in which the maximum price of the car can be up to Rs 20 lakh.
95% electric vehicle target by 2027
Under the policy, if a person scraps his petrol or diesel two-wheeler (scooter/bike) less than 12 years old, then the government will give him an additional ₹ 10,000 in EV procurement. It has also been decided in the policy that 95% of the new vehicles registered in Delhi by the year 2027, 95% of the vehicles should be electric and a target has been set to reach 98% by the year 2030. EV 2.0 policy will remain in force in Delhi till 31 March 2030.
