The video of a peon has gone viral in a college in Narmadapuram, Madhya Pradesh. In this video, peon showed checking answer sheets of PG College students. As soon as the video went viral, there was a stir in education. The students and their families expressed anger over this. When the matter caught fire, the Higher Education Department has taken action and suspended the professor.
The case is of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Government Postgraduate College in Pipariya. The evaluation work of the answer sheets of the examination was going on here, but the evaluation was not done by a professor but a peon. That too for only 5000 rupees. The case was revealed when a video went viral. In this, Pannalal Patharia, the class IV employee of the college, was seen examining the students’ copies.
As soon as the video came in front, there was anger among the students and complained to local MLA Thakurdas Nagvanshi. After this, the matter came to the notice of Higher Education Department. On which the department formed an inquiry committee and took action against the responsible professor.
Case reached MLA
After the video went viral, the students made serious allegations against the college administration and said that with such irresponsible attitude, their hard work and future have been mocked. MLA Nagvanshi took the evidence from the students to the departmental officers.
Investigation committee report revealed
In view of the seriousness of the case, the Higher Education Department immediately constituted an inquiry committee. The committee submitted its report on 3 April 2025, which clearly stated that the answer sheets given to the guest faculty Khushboo Pagare for evaluation were tested by the college peon Pannalal Patharia. Pannalal himself has admitted that he did this work for 5000 rupees. The bargain began when Khushboo Pagare, citing his poor health, entrusted the responsibility of checking the copies to the college book lifter Rakesh Meher. Rakesh took 7000 rupees and handed it over to the peon for 5000 rupees.
Responsibilities fell, action on these three
Based on the investigation report, on April 4, Principal in -charge of the college Rakesh Kumar Verma and Professor Ramgulam Patel were suspended with immediate effect. The department has clearly stated that such negligence cannot be ignored under his supervision as an administrative head and senior professor. Also, instructions have been issued for disciplinary action against guest faculty Khushboo Pagare, Book Lifter Rakesh Mehar and peon Pannalal Patharia.

There is anger among the students after this incident came to light. Many students said that getting serious tasks like examination evaluation to a non-educational employee, raises questions on the entire higher education system. A student said angrily- Do we work hard so that a peon should check our answer books?
Serious questions on education system, opposition raised questions
After this matter came to light, NSUI has questioned the government. NSUI state president Ashutosh Chowkse said that the matter is not limited to only one college, but it has become a symbol of negligence and neglect spread in the higher education system. If this kind of corruption and irresponsibility will run in the temples of education, then how safe will the intellectual future of the society be?
