In Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, sand mafia killed a Patwari by crushing him with a tractor. Actually Patwari had gone with his team to stop illegal sand mining. Meanwhile the driver crushed the Patwari. Patwari died tragically on the spot in the incident.
Actually this incident is being said to have happened late on Saturday night around 11 pm. According to the information, Patwari Prasanna Singh along with his three other companions had gone to stop illegal sand mining in Son river located in Gopalpur of Devlond police station area. During this time Patwari also caught hold of a tractor. When the Patwari asked to take the tractor to the police station, the driver started speeding the tractor in an attempt to escape. While trying to stop him, the Patwari came forward and the tractor driver ran the tractor over him. Patwari died tragically on the spot.
Devlond police has arrested a driver in this case. Who is being interrogated. However, till now the names of the mafia have not been revealed in the action. However, what remains to be seen is whether after this incident, the police will be able to reach out to the sand mafia or will the matter be pacified by taking formal action..?
The police have arrested one main accused in this entire case. Late in the night, ADGP DC Sagar had announced a reward of Rs 30 thousand against the accused. In this case, the police have also recovered the tractor from the possession of the accused. A case has been registered against the accused under section 302. After interrogation, names of many famous and influential people may come to light. Here Collector Vandana Vaidya says that action is being taken continuously against illegal mining in the district. In this sequence, the team of Patwaris had reached Gopalpur.
In the past years, there was a tender for sand mines in Shahdol. After the month of June, the sand tender of Vanshika Company ended. After which the sand mafia became active. There is a huge reserve of sand in the Son river passing through the district. On which the sand mafia is keeping an eye. Batli Ghat, Jarwahi Ghat of Burhar police station area of the district, Narwar Ghat in Sohagpur police station area, Pondi of Beohari police station area, Balhaud sand mine, Son Gharial of Devlond, Jhiriya Ghat, Gopalpur, Budhwa, Kunuk river of Jaitpur police station area and Gohparu. Illegal mining and trade of sand is going on in many places of the police station area.
It is not that the administration has not taken action. On the same day of the incident, 17 haiva sand was seized while taking action against illegal storage of sand in Budhwa, Sathni and Barhai of Devlond police station area. But after this action, around 11 pm, sand mafia took the life of a Patwari. Will the fearless sand mafia be controlled or will the illegal sand trade continue indiscriminately.
