Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do was theatrically released on May 15. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, it is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh, which starred Kartik Aaryan, Ananya Panday, and Bhumi Pednekar. SPOILER Alert! In the beginning of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Chanchal seeks forest officer Prajapati’s help for her personal life crisis. He agrees to help his old friend elope with her boyfriend Sunny (Vishal Vashistha). In order to do so, the forest officer starts posing as Chanchal’s partner. And this decision lands Prajapati in a big mess that he wasn’t prepared for.

Prajapati’s co-worker Nilofer Khan (Rakul) suspects that he has an affair with Chanchal and confronts him. She decides to break the news to Aparna, but Chanchal soon reveals the truth. Things turn murkier when Aparna not only sees Chanchal, but also Nilofer with Prajapati. She feels her husband has cheated on her with two women.
However, that isn’t the case. In scenes leading upto the climax, Nilofer reveals the truth about her and Chanchal’s bond with Prajapati. Meanwhile, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do also features Vijay Raaz, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Ayesha Raza and Vishal. Produced by T-Series and BR Studios, the romantic comedy earned Rs 3.85 crore at the box office on day one. It clashed with Suriya and Trisha Krishnan’s Karuppu, which registered an opening of Rs 15.50 crore.

As for PPAWD, it has been written and directed by Mudassar. The movie will premiere on Netflix after its theatrical run ends.
