Passenger Dragged and Assaulted by RPF Personnel After Pulling Chain Over AC Malfunction on Patna-Kota Express; Video Goes Viral

A passenger on the Patna-Kota Express faced a harsh response from Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel after pulling the train’s emergency chain multiple times due to a malfunctioning AC. When Anant Pandey’s complaints about poor AC cooling went unanswered, he pulled the chain near Ayodhya to halt the train.

Reports indicate Pandey repeated this action two more times in frustration, leading to mounting tension among other passengers. Upon reaching Charbagh station around 11:30 pm, a group of 10 RPF officers, along with the train’s TTE, allegedly dragged Pandey out of his coach and assaulted him, as shown in a video that went viral on October 28. Following the altercation, the passenger was taken to the RPF office, charged, and later presented in railway court, where he was granted bail.
