Paradox on MC Square: ‘There’s never been a situation where people have compared us’

Hip-hop artist Paradox has said there is no reason to compare him with fellow rapper MC Square, pointing out that both artists bring different strengths and skills to the table.

The two rappers are currently serving as squad bosses on the fifth season of the reality show “MTV Hustle”, which carries the theme “Apna Homeground”. Paradox said he enjoys the audience’s enthusiasm for a collaboration between the two and hinted that more music together could be on the way.

Addressing whether comparisons between him and MC Square could create pressure, Paradox told IANS, “I feel that there is no need to maintain it because there are many things in which both of us are experts, in many different aspects. And there has never been a situation where people have compared us.”

He added that fans want the two artists to collaborate because their combined strengths create a different musical experience.

“People want us to make music together because, when we make music together, all the skills are consumed by the people on the same plate. So, it is like that. There has never been a comparison, but we like it when you expect us to collaborate. So, keep expecting the same from us, and you will keep getting new music together,” he said.

The latest season of “MTV Hustle” features Badshah as Rap Supremo, with EPR, MC Square, Paradox and Agsy as squad bosses. The show gives aspiring rappers a platform to compete for recognition as leading hip-hop talent in India.

The first season premiered in 2019, while the second season arrived in 2022 with Badshah as judge. Badshah also returned for the third season in 2023, while Raftaar and Ikka judged the fourth season in 2024.
