Banda: A painful case has come to light from Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, which has again raised questions on the functioning of government hospitals. An innocent 5-year-old girl, who was injured after falling from the roof, lost her leg due to alleged negligence. There is deep shock in the family after the incident and anger is being seen in the entire area.
Admitted to hospital after the accident, but did not get timely treatment.
According to the information, Manvi, 5-year-old daughter of Anil Kumar, resident of Pandui village of the city Kotwali area, had fallen from the roof on 23 December 2025. The bone in his leg was broken in the accident. The family immediately took her to the medical college, where the girl was admitted. The family alleges that the girl was to be treated under the supervision of orthopedic specialist Dr. Vineet Singh, but after admission, the senior doctor did not see the girl for several days. The treatment mostly continued with the help of junior doctors.

Referred after condition worsened, leg had to be amputated in KGMU
According to family members, on December 29, the girl’s condition suddenly started deteriorating. After this he was referred to the higher centre. The girl was taken to King George’s Medical University in Lucknow, where doctors said she had a serious infection. According to doctors, it was necessary to amputate the girl’s leg to save her life. After this an operation was performed and his leg was amputated.
Family accused of negligence, FIR registered
Father Anil Kumar, who works as a laborer to run the family, had complained about this matter to the District Magistrate. The administration took the matter seriously and conducted an investigation. On the basis of the investigation report, an FIR has been registered against the concerned doctor under serious sections.

The family is completely devastated after the incident. Parents say that their daughter will now be forced to live with a major physical challenge throughout her life. They are worried about how his education, marriage and normal life will be possible in the future.
Local people also raised questions
There is resentment among the local people after this incident. They allege that many doctors posted in government hospitals pay more attention to their private nursing homes, due to which the patients admitted in government hospitals do not get proper treatment on time.
