To make pakoda batter, first take two cups of gram flour and mix two to three tablespoons of rice flour in it. After this, add salt as per taste, red chilli powder, turmeric, celery, coriander powder and a pinch of asafoetida. Now prepare the solution by adding little water to it. The solution should be smooth. Keep in mind that the batter should neither be too thin nor too thick. Do this and give it a rest for 10 minutes so that the spices mix properly. Now your batter is ready. You can prepare pakadas by adding potatoes, onions, chillies or any kind of vegetables to it.
