Zardari also said in his post that if this happens, it could lead to social instability. He appealed to the Government of India to ensure the protection of minority rights and shared cultural heritage. After his statement, debate started on social media also.

Muslim religious leaders of Kashi gave strict reply

Muslim religious leaders of Kashi have reacted sharply to President Zardari’s remarks. Mufti-e-Banaras Maulana Abdul Batin Nomani said that this is completely an internal matter of India and it will be resolved under Indian law and judicial process. He clearly said that Pakistan does not need to interfere in India’s affairs.

Maulana Nomani raised questions on the situation in Pakistan and said that there are many challenges regarding the security of religious places and mosques there. In such a situation, Pakistan should first pay attention to the problems of its own country. Not only Kashi, but many Muslim organizations and religious leaders from other parts of the country have also objected to Zardari’s statement. He says that public comments by a foreign head of state on sensitive matters of India are not appropriate. Many organizations said that India’s Constitution and judicial system are fully capable of resolving such cases.
