After the meeting, the ECB has supported Pakistan on the issue of Champions Trophy, albeit in hushed words.

Thompson tried to cut down BCCI’s talk of ‘security concerns’ through gestures. He said that recently the England team had toured Pakistan, which was very wonderful. Thompson also gave his best wishes to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. In response, Naqvi assured Thompson that Pakistan has made all preparations and is fully prepared to successfully host the tournament.

ICC’s big announcement

Pakistan had recently committed a despicable act regarding the Champions Trophy. He was asked to tour the tournament trophy to the cities of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. After this, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah expressed strong objection to this step and condemned it. After this incident, ICC took a big decision and refused to take the trophy tour to any disputed PoK. ICC has also announced the names of new cities.
