In Thane, a woman murdered her 37-year-old live-in partner and cut his body into pieces. She fled to Kolkata and confessed to the crime in a voice note to the landlord. Police have registered the case and started searching for the accused.

A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in Thane, adjacent to Mumbai. Here a woman allegedly killed her 37-year-old live-in partner. After this, he cut the body into pieces, put it in a sack and threw it in the bathroom of the rented flat. A few days after committing the crime, the woman fled to Kolkata and from there sent a voice note to the landlord confessing her crime.

Frightened by this audio message, the landlord immediately informed the police. As soon as the news was received, Manpada police reached the flat of Neelkanth Society located on Malang Road, Kalyan East on Sunday. The door was locked from inside, so the police had to break the door. The decomposed body of 37 year old Hamidullah Islam was found inside the bathroom. According to reports, the body was cut into pieces and packed in a sack. Police estimate that the murder might have been committed about five-six days ago.

People living in the society had complained about a very bad smell coming from the closed flat for the last few days. Initially they thought that this was happening due to garbage or drainage problem. According to the police, the accused woman Hasiba was living with the deceased in this rented flat for about one and a half to two months. An employee working at the society told The Times of India, “At first we thought the smell was coming from garbage or a drain. None of us had even thought that a dead body could be lying inside the flat.”

According to reports, Hamidullah was attacked with a sharp weapon and then his body was cut into pieces. Investigators believe that the accused woman had left the bathroom tap open continuously to destroy forensic evidence and to hasten the decomposition of the body.

In the voice mail that Hasiba sent to landlord Ajay Patil after escaping, she claimed that Hamidullah had brought her from Pune to sell her in the Kalyan prostitution business and was later planning to kill her. Hasiba said that when she learned of the conspiracy, she killed Hamidullah in self-defense. He also requested the landlord to perform the last rites of the deceased.

Police say that the claims made in the voice mail are being investigated. A case of murder has been registered and a team has been sent to Kolkata to nab the accused. Forensic experts have collected evidence from the flat, while the body has been sent for postmortem.
