Akshay Kumar’s ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ did decent business in paid previews. On the basis of Muharram holiday and positive word of mouth, the movie can earn double digits on the first day.
Akshay Kumar’s comedy film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has made a good start in paid previews before its release. Paid previews of the Ahmed Khan-directed film were held on Thursday evening ahead of its official release on Friday, June 26. The audience response to these shows, which started at 7:30 pm on June 25, is said to be positive to mixed. Trade experts believe that if the audience gets a good response on Friday, the film can have a respectable opening on the first day. Muharram holiday can also play an important role in strengthening the opening of the film.
Great earning in paid preview of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’
As per initial trade estimates, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has done a net business of around Rs 3.50 crore from its paid preview shows. This performance is considered to be almost equal to the paid preview collection of Akshay Kumar’s previous film ‘Bhoot Bangla’. It is believed in trade circles that the film can take full advantage of the Muharram holiday. It is estimated that the film can take an opening between Rs 13 to 17 crore nett on the first day, while many trade experts have estimated around Rs 16 crore nett. If word of mouth remains strong then the film’s earnings may increase further in the weekend.

Can ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ leave ‘Bhoot Bangla’ behind?
‘Welcome to the Jungle’ has been made on a bigger scale than Akshay Kumar’s previous film ‘Bhoot Bangla’. The film, part of the popular ‘Welcome’ franchise, has a huge star cast and a much bigger production scale. In such a situation, the trade hopes that the film can leave behind ‘Bhoot Bangla’ in its lifetime collection. However, the film is also going to face tough challenges in the coming weeks. Competition at the box office will increase due to the release of big films like Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Alpha’, Ajay Devgan starrer ‘Dhamal 4’. In such a situation, the long run of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ will largely depend on the positive response of the audience.

‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is directed by Ahmed Khan. The film released in theaters on June 26 and is the third installment of the ‘Welcome’ franchise.
