New Delhi [भारत]July 15 (ANI): The sixth day of the Oriental Cup 2026 continued to be an ideal environment for football amid bright sunshine and pleasant weather. The boys’ quarterfinal matches were played at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium. According to a press release, these four last-eight fixtures featured high-intensity football, dramatic moments and spectacular individual performances. Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar, Step by Step School, Noida, Mother’s International School, Delhi and G.D. Goenka School, Dwarka won and secured their place in the semi-finals.

Exciting quarter final matches

In the first quarter final, Delhi Public School, Vasant Vihar made a spectacular comeback defeating Delhi Public School, R.K. Defeated Puram 3-1. Ayush Ranjan scored a goal in the fourth minute itself to defeat DPS R.K. Puram were given an early lead, but in the ninth minute Idant Trivedi scored an equalizing goal for DPS Vasant Vihar. After this, Abhyudaya Singh gave his team the lead in the 12th minute and scored his second goal in the 40th minute, sealing the team’s brilliant comeback and securing a place in the semi-finals.

Step by Step School’s close victory

In the second quarter-final, Step by Step School, Noida defeated St. Francis de Sales Senior Secondary School in a closely contested match 2-1. Naunidh Gandhi opened the scoring in the 10th minute, but two minutes later, St. Francis de Sales’ Hirom Perrin scored the equaliser. Gandhi immediately responded and gave Step by Step School the lead again in the 14th minute. His two goals ultimately proved decisive and Step by Step won the tough match and made it to the last four.

Mothers International won the match by penalty

In the third quarter-final, Mother’s International School, Delhi defeated Mount Carmel School, Dwarka 1-0 to reach the semi-finals. In the first half, both the teams were tied and could not score any goal. The decisive moment of the match came in the 24th minute when Mount Carmel School gave away a penalty, which Dhruv Tuli calmly converted. His spot-kick proved decisive and Mother’s International School reached the semi-finals.

GD Goenka’s easy victory

The last match of the day was in the fourth quarter final, where G.D. Goenka School, Dwarka registered an impressive 2-0 win over Vasant Valley School. Karthikeya Kashyap Chugh continued his excellent form and scored two goals. He scored the first goal in the 11th minute and the second goal in the 23rd minute. With one goal each in both halves, G.D. Goenka School put up a composed performance and easily secured their place in the semi-finals.

Fourth edition of the tournament and sponsors

The Oriental Cup 2026 will continue next day with two highly anticipated semi-final matches each in the boys and girls categories as the tournament now enters its final stages. More than 1,500 student-athletes from more than 45 teams from Delhi-NCR are participating in this fourth edition being organized at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium from July 7 to 16. The prize money in the tournament has been more than doubled and there is also a scholarship program worth Rs 2.5 lakh for 10 deserving student-athletes. This fourth edition is supported by Oriental Structural Engineers Pvt Ltd as the title sponsor, while Nivea Sports is the football partner, Ocean Beverages is the hydration partner and Central Park Resorts is the associate partner.
