Kamakhya Temple Reopens: The holy place of Mata Kamakhya is situated on Nilanchal mountain in Guwahati, Assam. Here the doors of the temple were closed on the night of 22 June. Because it was the time of mother’s arrival. During this time the Ambubachi fair started outside the temple. Today i.e. on 26th June, after the Nivritti rituals, the doors of the temple have been reopened for the devotees. There is a huge crowd of devotees outside the Kamakhya temple. Devotees are waiting to see and worship the Mother Goddess.
Ambubachi fair is held outside the temple once a year in the month of June. During this time, a large number of devotees, saints and tantrics gather outside the mother’s shrine. This fair is counted among the biggest religious events of Assam. The doors of the temple are closed for three days during the Ambubachi fair. It is believed that this is the time of mother’s menstruation and rest. During this time, a white cloth is spread in front of the rock located in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, but let us know what is done after the conclusion of this fair?

What happens after the conclusion of Ambubachi fair?
The first darshan after the Ambubachi fair ends and the doors of the temple reopen are considered very auspicious. It is believed that the devotees who visit first get the special blessings of Mother Kamakhya. After the conclusion of the fair, some special functions are carried out. During this time, Mother Kamakhya is bathed. Daily yagyas, havans and pujas begin again. Fresh fruits, sweets and special offerings are offered to the Goddess. Holy Angodak is given to the devotees.
Angodak is given as Prasad
After the opening of the temple, now sacred Angodaka and Angavastra (Angabastra) will also be distributed to the devotees, which are considered extremely auspicious and revered. This is the same cloth which the priests spread in front of the rock in the sanctum sanctorum while closing the doors of the temple. This cloth turns completely red. This Angodak is given as Prasad to the devotees at the conclusion of the Ambubachi fair.
Kamakhya Devi Temple is the main center of Shakti worship.
This temple is said to be the main center of Shakti worship. There is no idol of the goddess here, rather a natural rock is worshipped, which is called Yonikund and from which water keeps flowing. It is believed that the vagina part of Mother Sati had fallen at this place, due to which this place became famous as Shaktipeeth.
