Ola Electric launches S1 X+ at Rs 1.29 lakh, claimed range 320 km

New Delhi: Ola Electric has introduced a new variant of its electric scooter, the S1 X+ with a 5.2 kWh battery. It is priced at Rs 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom) and is aimed at buyers looking for better range and performance without going into the premium price bracket. This launch reflects how quickly the electric scooter segment is growing in India.

This isn’t just a minor update. The focus this time is mainly on the battery and making the scooter easier to use in daily life. As more people start looking at EVs for regular commuting, companies are trying to give better range and efficiency without pushing the price too high.

One of the main changes in the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh is its new “4680 Bharat Cell,” which Ola has developed on its own. This means the company won’t have to rely as much on imported batteries and can have better control over how the scooter performs and how much it costs to make.

The scooter claims a range of 320 km on a single charge. For regular users, this could mean charging less frequently, especially for daily commuting. It is powered by an 11 kW motor and has a claimed top speed of 125 kmph. These numbers put it among the more powerful electric scooters currently available in the market.

Features and pricing

On the safety side, Ola has added Brake-by-Wire technology along with front disc brakes. These systems improve braking control and make stopping smoother, especially in emergency situations.

At its current price of Rs 1.29 lakh, the S1 X+ 5.2 kWh sits in a value-focused position, especially considering its claimed range and performance. However, this is an introductory price and could increase after April 15, 2026.
