Bengaluru: In Belagavi, Karnataka, a wife killed her husband to grab the insurance amount of Rs 2 crore. The woman’s friend and a hospital employee also supported her in this dreadful conspiracy. The case is of Yamkanmaradi in Belagavi, where the death of a former soldier Sandeep Manjaragi was said to be a heart attack. But police investigation revealed that it was not a heart attack but a premeditated murder.
According to the police, Sandeep had an accident a few days ago while returning from Hukkeri. However, he suffered only minor injuries. After this he was admitted to a private hospital in Ghatprabha. The police found that just before Sandeep was discharged, his wife Suma and her friend Dombar hatched a conspiracy. He recruited a hospital employee to his side and poisoned Sandeep.
Sandeep died shortly after reaching home. Suma told everyone that Sandeep died of a heart attack. After this the family also performed the last rites. But some people became suspicious of Sandeep’s sudden death and informed the police. After this the police started investigating the matter in depth. After conducting postmortem again, it was found that there was poison in Sandeep’s body.
After this the needle of suspicion went straight to wife Suma. When the police strictly interrogated the hospital employee, he spilled the beans on the entire conspiracy. The police immediately arrested Suma, his friend Dombar and the hospital employee. Police said that the aim of the accused was to grab the insurance policy worth Rs 2 crore present in the name of Sandeep. All the accused have been presented in the court.
