The country’s leading IT company Infosys has released its quarterly results. According to the quarterly results of Infosys, the company’s net profit increased by 12% to Rs 7,769 crore. While the company has announced a new CEO-designate, in the quarterly results, the company has also indicated to investors to be cautious by reducing the revenue growth estimate for the financial year 2027.
Apart from this, the company has also made it clear that in the last quarter, more than 500 employees have either left their jobs or have been dismissed from the company. Talking about the retention rate, the number of Infosys employees declined by 532 on a quarterly basis to 3,28,062 in the first quarter of the current financial year.
Appointment of 4000 freshers
According to the quarterly results, the company has appointed more than 4,000 new graduates during this period. The Bengaluru-based company said it is planning to recruit a total of 20,000 college graduates in the current financial year. This number is equal to the previous financial year 2025-26.
What is the future plan?
Infosys Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salil Parekh said, ‘We plan to hire 20,000 college graduates in the current financial year. We have made more than 4,000 appointments in the first quarter alone, and we will also continue to benefit from improved productivity. The number of employees of the company decreased to 3,28,062 by June 30, 2026, from 3,28,594 at the end of March 2026. In this way, the number of employees decreased by 532 on a quarterly basis. However, on an annual basis the company has added 4,274 employees. The number of Infosys employees in the April-June quarter of FY 2025-26 was 3,23,788.
What will be special for investors
Now investors will keep an eye on how much global demand improves in the coming quarters and whether Infosys is able to perform within its revised growth estimates. Besides, new orders received in areas like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cloud and Digital Transformation will also play an important role in determining the future growth rate of the company.
