In view of the increasing cyber crime across the country, Mumbai’s R.D. A special cyber security awareness session was organized at the National College. The main objective of this session was to alert the students about the dangers of the digital world and give them information about safe online behavior.
The program was organized in collaboration with Maharashtra Cyber Department, in which department head Yashasvi Yadav played an important role. During this, it was revealed that Akshay Kumar’s daughter also escaped from getting trapped in the clutches of cyber criminals.
During the session, students were given detailed information on topics such as online financial fraud, social media security, phishing attacks and cyber bullying. Experts explained how cyber criminals adopt different methods to trap people and what precautions should be followed to avoid them. Students were also explained to avoid clicking on any suspicious link and not to share their personal information with anyone.
The incident happened during online gaming
A shocking incident also came to light during the program. Yashasvi Yadav told that Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar had contacted the cyber department and lodged a serious complaint. He said that while his 13-year-old daughter was playing an online game, she was sent an objectionable message by an unknown person asking for nude photos. The girl informed her parents and they contacted the cyber crime police.
The accused was arrested
Maharashtra Cyber Department took this incident very seriously and immediately started investigation. Through technical analysis and prompt action, the accused was identified and arrested. Officials said that it is very important to take swift action in such cases so that the victim can get justice and other people can also be kept safe.
Yashasvi Yadav appealed to the students to be cautious while using the internet and immediately report any suspicious activity to the concerned authorities. He said that cyber security is not just a technical issue, but it is also a personal responsibility. According to the organisers, the session proved very useful for the students and helped them understand the importance of digital security.
