Elderly Rajesh Pandit, resident of Raghopur block in Supaul, says that there was magic in Sharda Sinha’s voice.

Rajesh Pandit says that Chhathi Maiya’s songs are played extensively on loudspeakers across the country and the world. But the credit for taking these songs to the country and the world goes to Sharda Sinha. People of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are in shock after the news of Sharda Sinha’s demise. He says that although Sharda Sinha has sung many songs, her real identity came only from the songs of Chhathi Maiya.

According to the villagers, Sharda Sinha was born on 1 October 1952 in Hulas and her primary education was done in the village itself.

His ancestral house is still there in the village

However, she went to Samastipur for further studies. There he practiced and gained recognition. His ancestral house still exists in the village. Due to lack of maintenance for a long time, this tile house has fallen into ruins. However, many of his memories are still present here. His brother has built a new house and lives near this house. His other brothers live outside the village. Hearing the news of his demise, all the brothers have left for Delhi with great regret.
