From today there will be 76 districts in Uttar Pradesh, not 75. The 76th district was formed on Sunday by carving out the boundaries of Prayagraj district. The name of this district will be Mahakumbh Mela District. Prayagraj DM Ravindra Kumar Mandar has issued a notification in this regard. With the issuance of the notification, not only has this district come into existence, but its boundaries have also been determined. According to the notification issued by DM Prayagraj, there will be a total of 67 villages in this district consisting of four tehsils.
The DM of this district will also hear the cases in all these villages. Actually, Maghamela is organized every year on the sands of Sangam in Prayagraj and Ardh Kumbh is organized every six years. A large number of devotees and tourists come here, but the scene of Mahakumbh, which takes place every 12 years, is different. During this time a new city is established inside Prayagraj city. Generally the population of this city is more than that of the old city.
76th district of Uttar Pradesh
In such a situation, every time at the time of Maha Kumbh, this new city is declared a district and a separate District Magistrate and Upazila Officer and Tehsildars are appointed for this place. Similarly, a separate SSP is also appointed for this district. In this sequence, a new district has been formed in view of the Mahakumbh to be held in January 2025. The number of this new district will be 76th. It will be known as Kumbh Mela District.
This district will have its own police
According to the notification issued by DM, there will be 4 tehsils in this district. These include Sadar, Soraon, Phulpur and Karchana tehsils. Till now these tehsils came in Prayagraj district. Similarly, this district will also have its own police. The head of this police will be SSP and two or three additional SPs and circle-wise CO will be deployed under him. According to the order of DM, this district has been formed with immediate effect.
